TAC Physiotherapy

TAC Physiotherapy

Recovering from a transport accident can affect far more than the injury itself. Pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility often make it harder to manage work, family life, and the everyday tasks people usually take for granted. At Mickleham Physiotherapy Services, we provide TAC physiotherapy to help people rebuild strength, movement, and confidence following a transport accident.

We understand that no two accidents or recoveries are the same. Our physiotherapists take the time to assess each person’s injuries and circumstances individually, building a rehabilitation plan around your goals, whether that’s returning to work, getting back to sport, or simply moving through your day without pain. We’re happy to liaise with your GP, case manager, or other treating professionals as part of your care, depending on your TAC claim and approval.

Our clinic is conveniently located in Mickleham, making us an accessible choice for TAC injury rehabilitation across the broader northern Melbourne region, including Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, Merrifield, and Kalkallo.

What Is TAC Physiotherapy?

TAC physiotherapy refers to physiotherapy treatment provided to people recovering from injuries sustained in a transport accident, where treatment costs may be covered through a Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claim. TAC is the Victorian scheme that can help fund reasonable treatment for eligible transport accident injuries, depending on your claim and approval.

As TAC physiotherapists, our role is to assess your injury, understand how it’s affecting your daily life, and guide you through a structured recovery process. Treatment is tailored to your specific injuries and progresses at a pace that suits your recovery, from early pain management through to rebuilding strength and function.

Key Information

If you’ve been injured in a transport accident, here’s what you may need to know before your first appointment.

01

Eligibility — You may be able to access TAC-funded physiotherapy if you’ve been injured in a transport accident and have an approved TAC claim. Funding depends on your individual claim and approval.

02

What You Need — Please bring your TAC claim number, your date of injury, and your case manager’s contact details, where available.

03

Billing — For approved claims, we can arrange billing directly with TAC, so there may be no upfront cost for approved claim appointments.

04

Pending Claims — If your claim is still waiting for approval, payment may be due on the day of your appointment. Any reimbursement of these costs is determined by TAC once your claim is approved.

Frequently Asked Questions

A referral isn’t always required to begin physiotherapy, but your treatment and funding will depend on your TAC claim and approval. We’re happy to discuss your situation and help you understand the next steps.

This depends on your individual TAC claim and approval. We recommend checking with TAC directly regarding your cover, and our team can help with any information needed to support your claim.

This varies depending on your injuries and medical advice. Many people benefit from starting physiotherapy early in their recovery, but we’ll assess your situation individually to determine the right time to begin.

If available, please bring any relevant medical reports, imaging results, and your TAC claim details. This helps us build an accurate picture of your injuries and plan your treatment accordingly.
